FANTASTIC news: the Lara D. Gass Memorial Law Scholarship has been awarded for the 2016/17 Law School year. The Board of Directors of the LLLF along with the administration and faculty of the W&L Law School have named third year law student Jessica Winn as our second recipient. We are so proud to be able to continue the scholarship and provide a little help to Jessica on her journey through law school. Jessica is originally from Newberg, Oregon and studied Political Science at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh PA. According to Jessica, her passion is in public interest law specifically public defense, environmental law or government policy. She also notes a connection to Lara “It’s a small world: when the scholarship was announced this year, Claire Thomas reached out to me. We attended high school together and it was beautiful to reconnect over our connection with Lara”. Claire is one of Lara’s closest friends and sorority sister.

Jessica will be 3L student this coming year and we look forward to her graduation in May of 2017. Congratulations Jessica! #livelikelara
