We are honored and excited to announce the first Lara D. Gass Law Scholarship recipient! Julianne Freeman a third year law student, will graduate in May 2016 in the top 25% of her class. She has been involved in numerous activities including the Law Review as Lead Articles Editor and is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta organization, both of which Lara was also very active. Julianne is active in working with organizations that promote gender equality, which was also one of Lara’s passions! She has been hired by Norfolk Southern Corporation after her graduation and will be staying in Virginia. She is originally from New York, but has acclimated well to the more southern areas~ although I never did hear a “y’all”! Julianne is engaged to a gentleman who is a third year law student and will also graduate in May. He is from Pennsylvania and is a Steelers fan! Julianne has even been to a game in Pittsburgh!

Julianne is a remarkable young woman. We are proud and pleased for her to receive this scholarship in honor of our daughter, Lara. We are sure that Lara is happy and content knowing that her scholarship is helping someone who shares so many of her passions. The LiveLikeLara Foundation wishes Julianne all of the best as she ventures out into the legal world.
